Pilot funding opportunities including the Clinical and Translational Science (CTS) Pilot award.

CTS funding opportunities

Collaboration with NC TraCS

Pilot and i2i Applicants are strongly encouraged to use NC TraCS resources and services in their proposals. These resources and services will be available to applicants at a 1:1 match (effectively 50% reduction of standard rates).

The NC TraCS Clinical & Translational Science (CTS) Research Program fuels groundbreaking translational science research to fast-track the discovery and implementation of more treatments, for all people, more quickly.

The CTS Research Program offers two CTS funding opportunities: the CTS Pilot Program and the Innovation to Impact Awards (i2i).

The CTS Pilot Program provides $25,000–$50,000 awards for early stage, one year projects that improve understanding of the scientific or operational principles guiding translational research. Pilot studies support exploratory ideas, proof of concept work, and new methodological approaches that can be applied broadly across diseases.

The Innovation to Impact Awards fund larger, multi year translational science projects that remove major roadblocks and enable rapid implementation at UNC Health and beyond. Awards provide $125,000-250,000 per year over 2 to 3 years to support teams developing generalizable solutions that improve the translational research process.
